This research project is investigating how your performance on various kinds of tasks (such as making decisions and responding quickly) may be related to some features of your personality. We are only seeking data from participants who are 18 years or older. If you are younger than 18, thank-you for your interest, but we will be unable to use your data at this time and so recommend that you don’t continue.

The data from this study is intended to be published in peer-reviewed journals, and will also be used in the co-investigators’ research reports. Personal details gathered in the course of this research will remain confidential.

Participation is completely voluntary. You will be asked to answer questions about your personality, your social life and your opinions about right and wrong. Some of these questions may be personally sensitive and you are not obligated to answer any questions that you are not comfortable with. We will also ask you to label some facial expressions and to do a quick memory test. Should you find that any aspect of this study causes you distress, you may consider contacting Lifeline (13 11 44) or another counseling service in your local area.

Participation should take no longer than an hour and you are free to withdraw from participation, without penalty or consequence, at any time. Your confidentiality will be assured as your data will be stored without reference to your name or other identifying information. Due to the anonymous nature of the study you will be unable to withdraw your data once it has been submitted.

By progressing past this information page you are indicating your informed consent to participate in this study. You are free to withdraw from the study at any time, simply by closing your browser window.
